BBNWA AGM 2024 report

by Grant Murrell

I would like to say a big thank you to all Co-ordinators who attended our BBNWA Annual General Meeting, which took place on Monday 30th September at the United Reformed Church, Bexleyheath. It was great to see your faces, chat and to share a hot drink with you too. Your interaction and your questions to the panel of guest speakers were engaging and well received and helped make for a great community evening.

Speakers at the event

I would also like to say a special thank you to all our guest speakers, namely, Madam Deputy Mayor Councillor Lisa-Jane Moore, MPS Superintendent Simon Corbin, MPS Chief Inspector James Hendrick, LFB Borough Commander Clinton Walsh and Councillor Steven Hall.

Your presentations were precise and caught the attention of everyone in the audience and your presence added much to the evening.
I would like to extend my gratitude to PCSO's - Joyce and Donna who were in attendance and flew the flag of behalf of their PCSO colleagues who serve the residents in our borough.

I would like to record my sincere thanks to Dave Potter, who has for the past several years been my Deputy Chair and has dedicated so much time, experience and expertise to the role. David has decided to step down from his role yet I'm pleased to announce will be remaining on the Committee.

In the same token I have the pleasure to welcome existing Committee Member Paul Bamford into the role of Vice-Chair. I look forward to working more closely with Paul in the forthcoming months. Special recognition goes to Co-ordinator Yohan Keerthiratna on becoming the winner of the 2024 Violane Therond Award, for his dedication and achievements to his community in his role of Co-ordinator.

Finally may I say well done and thank you to all my BBNWA Committee members who contributed to making the AGM a great success.
